We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Construction Retrofit (Domestic) Lecturer to join our Construction department.

 

In this rewarding post you will develop, course lead and deliver teaching on our Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management. This Qualification provides specific knowledge on the requirements of  Domestic Retrofit to meet the Standards detailed in Pas 2035. The successful completion of this Qualification allows leaners to work as Project Manager/Coordinator for Domestic Retrofit Projects that comply with Pas 2035 and meet the requirements of the Quality Mark. 

 

Working closely with the Director of Learning and the rest of the departmental team, you will utilise your industry skills and experience to provide first class training and help your learners achieve at the highest levels, which will in turn enhance their employability skills. You will be required to develop a programme of delivery and write associated assignments in line with Awarding Body and industry requirements. You will also support quality assurance processes, assess students work and liaise with stakeholders as required.  

 

The successful candidate must have:

  • A Degree level qualification in a relevant technical subject (such as Building and Construction, Construction Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture and Building Design)
  • Knowledge and experience of using different types of insulation in Construction, Energy Efficient Construction, Types of Zero Carbon Structures and Retrofitting to improve the Fabric of Buildings
  • A Teaching qualification (ideally at Level 4 or above)
  • Experience of working in Domestic Retrofit, coupled with knowledge of PAS 2035 and Each Home Counts
  • Experience of writing assignments
  • Experience of Quality assurance
  • Significant Construction industry experience
